This is a fab fish and chip venue! They do a gluten free fish and chips option using a dedicated fryer, which is great news for anyone with a gluten intolerance. The owner took the trouble to come and discuss my order and demonstrated awareness and understanding of a gluten allergy. She also explained that the vinegar was gluten free also. The fish was lovely and fresh, and the batter crispy and delicious. The chips were perfect. Will be back again very soon.

The fish and chips are great. Very crispy batter, no excess oil. Home made mushy peas and super tasty curry sauce. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. Sitting in the restaurant with a big pot of tea and some bread and butter as well, couldn’t be much better. To be honest, it’s in my top list of fish and chips in the UK.

Excellent family run fish and chips joint. The cod was deliciously flaky and hot and the chips seemed like hand cut masterpieces. Drown those suckers in the malt vinegar and salt and then down your gullet. Lovely!!

Moved here from London about 11 years ago and this is the ONLY Chippy in Northampton that I will eat (have tried so many). Not only is the food amazing, piping hot with really crispy batter, the Owners are so lovely and always make me feel like they have taken so much pride in their business and customers. My daughter is also a huge fan and also loves the owners. I NEED a A J Ramsbottom fish and chip dinner now when you are open next. YUMMY!!

The best fish and chips in town. Three of us went in and it was first class. Huge chip portion (more than we could even manage!!), excellent service from the lovely staff and an all round great experience. Will definitely be revisiting again very soon. Thank you

I love the fish and chips @ Ramsbottom.and I'd say they are the best . I always come here lunchtime and cannot fault it. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and hospitable you get loads of chips and a nice big fat cod. Surprised at the negative comment with the lady who only had 10 chips hmmm really #exaggeration I think.🤣 Otherwise friendly couple , staff and I've been coming here for years. Keep up the good work guys x
